Professional Experience
Roger Burks is the President/Managing Director and Board Member at Willis Group Consulting (WGC). Currently, Mr. Burks is a CPA with over 30 years of business experience, including over 20 years with Deloitte & Touche and 10 years of experience as a senior executive in the energy industry. Mr. Burks’ experience further stems from serving on Boards, funding new ventures, and starting two management consulting firms.
Prior to WGC, Mr. Burks was the Partner in Charge of the Energy Practice and Global Strategic Clients for Deloitte & Touche in Houston, TX. Mr. Burks served as Lead Partner on many of the energy clients of Deloitte and led various transaction projects including external audits, acquisitions, divestitures, public and private stock, debt offerings, and merger integration. Concurrently, Mr. Burks led the recruiting, development, and deployment of professionals in the Audit Practice.
In 2002 Mr. Burks left Deloitte & Touche to become a co-founder of a consulting/staffing firm , where he led it to be ranked No.25 on the INC 500 fastest growing companies in 2005. Mr. Burks sold his interest in 2006 and became a board member and CFO of an energy company . Through his experience, Mr. Burks led a public debt offering, created a successful IPO effort, established SOX compliance while he restructured and designed the operational, financial, technology, and human resources business process. In 2012, Mr. Burks founded a financial advisory firm that was effectively merged into WGC.
Today Mr. Burks and his team serve as the Interim-CFO for a number of companies and provide all financial, operational, and transactional services to them. Additionally, Mr. Burks serves on the Board of STR Marketplace, The Houston Chapter of CPAs, and has previously served on the Board of Superior Offshore International as well as various other private company and non-profit boards.
